Sanford, ME — Aug 25, 2010 — A global leader in NetFlow analysis software development, Plixer International, Inc. was announced as the recipient of the "ANPM for the Masses Award" from Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) in their recently released industry analysis titled EMA RadarTM for Application-Aware Network Performance Management Q3 2010.
Columbitech announce Wireless Security Deal with top-10 retailer

    <date>2010-06-10</date>

NEW YORK – 10 June, 2010. Columbitech, a leading provider of Wireless VPN Security, today announced a contract with a US Top-10 Retailer.

The Columbitech PCI DSS Security Software is successfully installed in all the 3000+ stores operated by the retailer enabling compliance with the cryptographic guidelines and requirements enforced by the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards). This is achieved without any investments in additional wireless infrastructure, without any device replacement and without any additional system resources.

The use of wireless technology in Retail Stores improve productivity, flexibility and increase sales, but it requires a security solution preventing all but authenticated traffic to enter, or to leave, the secured back-end systems. Many retailers still have a large fleet of legacy devices. To become PCI compliant many consider a rip-and-replace or shutting down legacy devices. Despite the fact that end-of-life is not exceeded. Despite the fact that these devices still are in use in various business and revenue generating processes.

“The Columbitech PCI DSS Security is a 100% Software Solution not only providing Retailers with the highest Security level, but also the most cost-efficient and fastest alternative to meet the PCI DSS requirements. By not shortening life time of a single legacy wireless device, a retailer postpone significant hardware investments”, says Lars Resenius, CEO of Columbitech.

Plixer International Launches Scrutinizer 7.7 Now with nProbe Support

Partnership With Italy’s Ntop Provides First-of-its-kind Advanced Flow-based Monitoring To Analyze Latency And Web App Traffic Detail; Remote Deployment Enables Easy And Effective Monitoring Across Geographically Dispersed Sites

Sanford, ME — May 18, 2010 — Plixer International, Inc., a leading global provider of network traffic monitoring and analysis tools, today announced that it has partnered with NTOP of Italy to launch Scrutinizer 7.7 with nProbe™ support for advanced flow-based monitoring to analyze client, server and application latency. If the flow involves HTTP, the URL information can also be exported.

With its unique software-based nProbe™ support, Scrutinizer 7.7 is the first-of-its-kind NetFlow analyzer to enable affordable remote probe deployment on individual PCs or servers to track and pinpoint traffic and application issues. While traditional NetFlow reporting involves displaying top IP addresses, ports and data volume, Scrutinizer v7.7 when receiving IPFIX from the nProbe, can deliver details generally only available via packet analysis. For example, if the flow exported by the nProbe involves HTTP, the exact URL and corresponding client, server and application latency experienced by the end systems is displayed. More detail means more awareness and shorter network troubleshoots.

“The ability to deploy this unique open source nProbe™ monitor makes this a powerful combination that is extensible and customizable for other applications, such as monitoring for VoIP and e-mail traffic,” said Michael Patterson, Scrutinizer product manager with Plixer. “This integration takes application performance analysis with NetFlow or IPFIX to a whole new level.”

Education Providers 'Scrutinize' Network Traffic to Ensure Optimum Availability and Uptime for Students, Staff and Faculty

Plixer International Adds New K-12 And Higher Ed Clients To Its Scrutinizer Netflow And Sflow Monitor Customer Roster

Sanford, ME — May 07, 2010 — In the digital learning age, reliable and high-performance access to data networks is crucial to educational systems at both the K-12 and collegiate level. Aside from warding off bottlenecks and troubleshooting network and latency issues to ensure reliable data flow, educational IT departments must have complete visibility into high traffic-flows to watch out for questionable activity that may compromise performance or introduce vulnerabilities which pose risks to the school or district’s reputation.

To monitor network traffic for anomalies and ensure optimum availability and uptime to meet their educational goals, more than a dozen school districts, colleges and universities have turned to Plixer International’s Scrutinizer NetFlow and sFlow analysis software in the past year. New Scrutinizer clients in the K-12 space include Campbell County (WY) Schools, Park City (UT) Schools, Newark (NJ) Public Schools and the Dublin (OH) City School System.

In higher education, Harvard Medical School, Texas A&M, Flinders University, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Babson College and Southern Polytechnic State University, among others, have all begun using Scrutinizer to track usage and ensure maximum availability across the network.

“Colleges and universities, in particular, have a unique requirement to monitor bandwidth consumption in order to ensure proper usage among students,” said Michael Patterson, Scrutinizer product manager with Plixer. “Scrutinizer helps them keep tabs on network activity and pinpoint spikes, down to the individual user level, that may indicate inappropriate behavior—like peer-to-peer sharing or illegal downloads—or a technical problem in the system. Without a system like Scrutinizer, schools risk getting caught up in sticky legal or technical issues that could harm their reputation.”

Reston, VA --- May 5th, 2010 --- Ekahau Inc., the worldwide high performance leader of Wi-Fi-based Real Time Location Systems (RTLS), today announced that it has enhanced its industry-leading, Wi-Fi (WLAN) site survey and planning tool, Ekahau Site Survey, with automated network planning capabilities. Ekahau Site Survey 5.0 introduces Auto-Planner, which assists users in designing a corporate Wi-Fi network by suggesting optimal access point locations and channel assignments.

“Ekahau Site Survey is widely considered the quickest and easiest Wi-Fi site survey and planning tool on the market. The addition of Auto-Planner continues our mission of providing simple-to-use, enterprise-grade tools for Wi-Fi administrators,” said Jussi Kiviniemi, senior product manager at Ekahau. “An earlier version of the Ekahau Site Survey enabled users to cut on-site survey time in half with the introduction of Hybrid Site Survey technology. This latest release of the tool makes the solution even more efficient. With Auto-Planner, we’re able to reduce off-site network design time to one-tenth of the time it typically would take.
iPhone 4.0 - what it means for Excitor DME

    <date>2010-04-12</date>

Excitor is extremely thrilled to see all the new features in iPhone OS 4.0, which will make iPhone an even more attractive platform for our customers.

With the new capabilities to have our DME application activated upon selected events, we will finally be able to supply our customers with the same capabilities as we have on the other device platforms (e.g. Symbian and Windows Mobile 6.5).

We are also happy to see the new Calendar APIs, something our customers have been requesting since the first version of iPhone. We will extend DME to offer the same combination of data protection as we have on the other platforms, where customers can choose to keep calendar data within DME, to have only the time and date synchronized to the calendar (for alarms) - or to have everything synchronized between DME and the native calendar.

Being able to perform actual device management is also something we have hoped to see, and we are delighted to start working with the new features. We expect to be able to incorporate these new iPhone capabilities, with the device management features we support for all the other platforms.

As soon as we have had time to investigate the new capabilities further, we will let you know when the new version of DME leveraging all the nice new capabilities, will be released.

In the mean time, we can only recomment you to download our DME for iPhone product sheet right on this page.
PORT–AU–PRINCE, HAITI – February 2, 2010 – Establishing communications for a group of American doctors who have rushed to Haiti to aid victims of the massive earthquake that shook this region recently, Business Mobility™ Systems, a new breed of Unified Communications service provider, supported by solutions from Ingate® Systems, has swiftly deployed a Unified Communications solution for these medical professionals as a replacement for the country's destroyed traditional telephony infrastructure.

Business Mobility™ Systems is working directly with Dr. Troy Silvernale, a surgeon, and his team from Advantage Health Physician Network, a progressive network of doctors in Michigan. Dr. Silvernale and his colleagues needed a stable communications system set up quickly for their immediate deployment to Haiti. Business Mobility Systems, using Ingate solutions, provided them with an end-to-end Unified Communications solution to enable voice calls over IP (VoIP), texting capability and Internet access.

Dr. Silvernale and his team are using Nokia E-71 smartphones equipped with Business Mobility™ Systems' bMC client, the Hosted Business MobilityTM 1 Service. An Ingate SIParator® is installed at the edge of the network to provide far-end Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal, which makes it possible for the VoIP calls to “go through“ or be completed. The solution enables voice calls, as well as texting and full Internet access.

Excitor introduces support for Android and BlackBerry in January 2010

    <date>2009-12-11</date>

Excitor enforces its commitment to broad mobile platform support with the introduction of DME clients for Android and BlackBerry in the beginning of 2010.

Android support as phones mature and high demand expected
Based on Android's expected market adoption and many customer inquiries, Excitor initiated development of a DME client for the Android mobile operating system this summer for phones such as HTC Magic and HTS Hero. The DME Android client is currently in the final testing phase and Excitor expects it to be available in January 2010. The Android DME client will in the first release contain Basic Mobile Device Management capabilities such as device inventory, traffic logging, file sync and configuration of access points, bookmarks, and application blocking. In Spring 2010, a secure e-mail client will be released.

BlackBerry traffic logging and inventory control
Quite a few organizations have a very mixed mobile device environment including BlackBerrys (often for upper management). DME installations have happíly co-existed with BlackBerry devices, and in the near future Excitor will introduce BlackBerry support. The primary purpose of the DME BlackBerry client is to track data and voice consumption and ensure mobile phone administrators have an overview of all their devices in one place. From the DME adminstrator web interface, DME administrators will have a a complete inventory overview including their BlackBerrys and can monitor data and voice consumption via the DME traffic log and Mobile Analyzer.

Check Supported Devices for availability of the Android client and BlackBerry client where you also can sign up for getting notified when new devices become available!

Ingate Adds Test Agent and VoIP Diagnostic Tools in New Software Version 4.8

    <date>2009-12-09</date>

Advanced Troubleshooting, Quality Statistics for SIP, VoIP, SIP Trunks

Hollis December 9 2009 – Ingate® Systems, a leading provider of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) that enable SIP communications such as SIP trunking and Unified Communications beyond the protected enterprise network, has added new diagnostic tools and enhanced quality statistic reporting in new Ingate software version 4.8, now available for all Ingate Firewall® and Ingate SIParator® products.

The new software features a SIP Test Agent that offers significant diagnostic capabilities to help identify the location of and isolate any issues with SIP communications. In this manner, 4.8 provides a significant advantage to service providers, end users and resellers by speeding up the process of diagnosing problems, so a solution can be implemented as soon as possible.

With the SIP Test Agent, test calls are manually initiated or scheduled for periodic tests. This helps ensure that the system is always "live", calls are able to be connected and that calls are delivered to the correct recipient.

The Ingate SIP Test Agent also includes an echo server. The echo server listening to a configured address answers all incoming calls and echoes back the media to ensure a successful two-way connection. The echo server also determines whether there is delay and, if so, how big the delay is.
CRYPTOCard’s aggressive swap-out campaign makes switching easy – TCO tool measures savings potential

Bristol, UK, 9 October 2009: The world of two-factor authentication is undergoing a dramatic transformation – thanks to CRYPTOCard’s revolutionary hosted Passwords-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution, CRYPTO-MAS.

As part of the company’s aggressive campaign to persuade existing users of competitive solutions, as well as new users, to switch to CRYPTO-MAS, CRYPTOCard’s total cost of ownership (TCO) comparison White Paper demonstrates the dramatic reduction which can be achieved as a result of adopting CRYPTO-MAS cloud-based authentication.

“Users can achieve a typical saving of up to 60% in total costs against RSA’s SecureID, for example, over a five-year period, and large savings are also possible on other solutions such as Aladdin’s SafeWord and Vasco’s DIGIPASS,” confirms CRYPTOCard’s CEO and chairman, Neil Hollister. “These are impressive, real world savings,” he says, “and, with the introduction of our new Migration Agent software, we have made switching as easy as possible.”
